Leicestershire Police Authority

Get involved

We represent the community, therefore your involvement with us is valued and more importantly it is applied to the decisions that we make when deciding the future of policing in Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland. The views that we collect during our consultation exercises throughout each year are taken into account when we set our objectives for the policing plan and the budget for the following year.

Our methods of consultation vary in order to ensure that we are accessible by everyone within our community regardless of Sex, Race, Disability, Sexual Orientation, Religion and Belief, Age and Transgender, or whether you live in an urban or rural part of the county. We do consult on specific topics such as the budget and level of council tax that you would be willing to pay for your Police service and we also consult on more general topics such as what you think of your local policing service, how safe you feel living and working in the area and what crime and disorder priorities you feel the Police should be focusing on.

Here are the ways that you can get involved with your Police Authority and help shape the future of policing:

The results of our public consultation are published on our website every September and March. The Statutory Policing Plan, which sets out the short and medium term goals of the Constabulary, is published every April. Both documents are located under our Resources page.
